Domenico Pilato

Domenico Pilato

Board Member & Co-Founder

Domenico P. Pilato has over 20 years of professional experience in community and economic development, government, community relations, social services and education. Mr. Pilato’s expertise and work in community and economic development began with the City of Los Angeles as the Deputy Director of former Mayor Richard J. Riordan’s Office of Economic Development. Prior to the Mayor’s Office he served as Community and Economic Development Deputy for the Los Angeles Harbor and Watts communities. The success of projects he led was attributed to his ability to develop and implement programs involving multiple partnerships, build strategies and establish the necessary resources.

As an economic development specialist, he created a plan that focused on business retention, expansion and attraction of new businesses to the Los Angeles harbor region. Mr. Pilato led the efforts to develop small business capital access coordination for underserved communities in the City of Los Angeles and received national recognition for model programs in the areas of procurement and job development. Through these model initiatives he secured over 50 public and corporate partnerships, promoted contract and procurement relationships between small and large businesses and governments, which resulted in over $2.5 billion in regional contract activity. He coordinated outreach to and prequalified over 100 small businesses for one-on-one business introduction meetings with public and private contract providers. He also identified over $78 million in community development lending for a national securitization demonstration project. Mr. Pilato initiated and coordinated the design and development of a Los Angeles region small Business Assistance Virtual Network (BAVN) securing $775,000 in project funding.

Due to the closure of the Long Beach Naval Shipyard, located in the South Bay of the Los Angeles, Mr. Pilato led the efforts of the City of Los Angeles by identifying over 1,600 job referrals and assisted with 1,200 placements of displaced employees. He secured over $5.75 million in grant funding for small business outreach in the greater Los Angeles region. Mr. Pilato was also instrumental in developing and launching the Los Angeles One Stop Capital Shop, Inc., and retained and attracted over 2,000 jobs for the Los Angeles Harbor and Watts communities.

Gino Di Leva

Gino Di Leva

Since 1985, Gino Di Leva has remained actively involved with musical projects as a band leader and professional musician. Mr. Di Leva’s experience within the recording studio and on the live stage has earned him an outstanding reputation as a songwriter, musician and producer. He has acquired an array of musical accomplishments as a recipient of songwriting awards, receiving national radio play and performing with several prestigious national acts.

Simultaneously, Mr. Di Leva was always focused on the importance of education and instruction. For several years he worked as an educational aide for the Los Angeles Unified School District. During his tenure, he worked with at-risk youth to help motivate them to understand the value of education and the importance of staying in school. While doing so, he continued his involvement in various musical groups, productions and songwriting projects.

His work ambitions led him to the thriving maritime industry and employment in several of the world’s largest import/export companies. Due to his successes and accomplishments in operations, equipment and customer service, Mr. Di Leva was promoted to a finance position with a leading steamship line. For ten years, Mr. Di Leva was considered a valued employee and, during his employment, received many accolades. Mr. Di Leva is recognized for his comprehensive industry knowledge, positive attitude and ability to mentor and train his colleagues.

Mr. Di Leva’s musical endeavors had always coincided with his professional career. However, his passion for the arts and helping others through the power of song and speaking grew so intensely that, with his experiences in business and the music industry, he decided to take on the career of a full-time musician. Mr. Di Leva received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from California State University Dominguez Hills.

Paul Figueroa

Paul Figueroa has been a leader in the retail sales industry for 27 years. Leading teams as small as 5 to over 100 employees, he has navigated the challenges of bringing people from diverse backgrounds and generations together to accomplish their goals. Paul has earned various accolades including the President’s Cabinet award for top 1% sales achievement with his current employer. Paul has recently become an advocate for Veganism after surviving a heart attack in 2015 and was recently featured in VegNews Magazine’s annual “Veganism Saved my Life” series. Paul is also the HappyCow.com volunteer Ambassador for the City of Anaheim which promotes Vegan and Veg friendly restaurants worldwide. In his limited free time, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife Monica of 23 years, his adult children Marisa and Nicholas and his handsome 1 year old grandson, Nathaniel.

Jovelyn Garcia

Jovelyn Garcia is an interior designer with over 20 years of design experience in residential and multi-family. Ms. Garcia is the Director of Design for a multi-family development firm in Irvine, California. She develops designs for new construction – luxury apartment communities and occasionally assist in the Funds Division rehabbing existing apartment homes.She is passionate about philanthropy projects and has worked with Habitat for Humanity designing residential homes for low-income veterans and half-way houses throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.

Ms. Garcia earned her Associates of Arts Degree in Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM – LA Chapter) and acquired her Bachelor of Arts Degree at the American InterContinental University (AIU – Los Angeles campus). A member of the Building Industry Association and Urban Land Institute, she is well connected to other industry leaders working to develop better living standards for all communities.

After hours and weekends, you can find Ms. Garcia training/participating in Spartan races and EPIC Series races. Her love of the outdoors takes her to places where her trail shoes come home filled with water, mud and dust… AROO!

Dan Hubbard is President and CEO of Creative Sports Inc., an action-sports promotions and marketing company. Since 1986, Creative Sports has utilized the vehicle of the action sports stunt show to showcase the talents of some of the top BMX stunt riders in the country.

As president and team manager, Mr. Hubbard has staged more than 10,000 productions throughout North America, Europe and Asia at a variety of venues including: professional sports arenas, amusement parks, state fairs, trade shows, fashion malls, major retailers, speedways, colleges and grade schools. He has performed with Disneyland, Six Flags, Toyota, Cisco Systems, the NFL, the NBA & the NHL. Between the influences of Hollywood and major theme parks, each show is written to be highly entertaining and inspiring with broad family oriented appeal. These shows combine the thrilling aspects of professional BMX stunt riding with contemporary music, theatrical comedy, audience participation and motivational messages.

Rock n’ Talk Students

The flagship of our programs packed with exciting and engaging live music and motivational talks! It’s the perfect way to excite and connect with your students while delivering meaningful and memorable messages on topics of your choice.

Program running time: 90 minutes

Rock n’ Talk Symposium

This program dives deeper into the well of our messages offering extended speaking presentations, breakout groups, report backs and concludes with a modified musical Rock n’ Talk. Student facilitators are trained to lead breakout discussion groups and present report backs to their student body during the symposium. Each speaking presentation, within the symposium, is 15 minutes on themes of your choice.

Program running time: Half day or full day

Rock n’ Talk Action Sports

Specifically designed for your school pep rallies and special assemblies, Rock n’ Talk & Action Sports join forces in this eye-catching, head-bobbing, mind-blowing event! Get ready to get FIRED UP!! Arial stunts, heart-pounding music, hilarious skits and positive messaging will have your students and faculty talking for days on end.

Rock n’ Talk Parents

An important cog in the wheel of success for both students and school are parents. Why not offer them a chance to attend their own specialized Rock n’ Talk? With energetic music and motivational speaking on topics of your choice, geared towards adults, this program is sure to be a treat for those who make our schools and students go ‘round.

Note: Rock n’ Talk Parents typically takes place in the evening after school hours on the same day as our Rock n’ Talk Students.
